The State of FISD

Dr. Mike Waldrip serves as superintendent of Frisco Independent School District. He began his career in education in 1982 in Victoria, Texas. He spent 16 years as a biology teacher and basketball coach in Victoria, Goliad and Seminole ISDs, before working as an assistant high school principal in Seminole. 

He first came to Frisco ISD in 2002, serving as principal of Clark Middle School and then as the District’s first-ever director of secondary instruction. He opened Liberty High School as principal in 2006. In 2010, Dr. Waldrip moved to central administration, where he oversaw data systems, program evaluation and various FISD departments as an assistant and deputy superintendent. In 2014, he got the opportunity to serve as superintendent of schools in nearby Coppell ISD, a position he held until his return to Frisco ISD in July 2017.

Dr. Waldrip and his wife Lisa have two grown sons who both graduated from Frisco ISD schools. In his spare time, Dr. Waldrip enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors, traveling, scuba diving, reading and listening to live music, such as classic rock and roll and the blues.

Dr. Todd Fouche is the Deputy Superintendent of Business and Operations at FISD. He has served the district for almost 18 years in various positions. He has lived in Frisco since 1994.
