Congratulations Brandy Miles, Rotary Foundation Chair on her presentation at last week's meeting. She hit it out of the ballpark! A lot of great information about our Rotary Foundation was shared.
As mentioned by Brandy in her Foundation Celebration, Rotary allows us to explore the three T's.
Our Time, our Talent, and our Treasury!
As we move through our Rotary experience and try keep these "faucets" balanced, sometimes we give more from of a particular one in any one year, depending on our circumstances.
Brandy's role revolves around the treasury part. She feels that the Rotary goals presented to us are a way to keep our clubs accountable for our activities, and find ways to do more and be more effective. Brandy challenges us to shine this Rotary year by hitting our EREY goal (Every Rotarian Every Year $100 per personal minimum annually), by maintaining our $10,000 collective Foundation annual contribution, and by ultimately becoming a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club.

The Rotary Direct Program while you are there! Help celebrate the Centennial of The Rotary Foundation by helping us reach its $300 million fundraising goal for its centennial year. Your contribution will enable the Foundation to have an even greater impact during its second century. And don't forget Brandy's commitment as she said, "I am always here to help!"
In other business at the meeting there was an abundance of Happy Bucks, with the Cubs World Series Victory being a common theme. Congratulations are in order for Josh and Ashlee who are expecting a baby boy! On behalf of the International Service Committee, Art announced that on Nov. 1st the club received official notice from The Rotary Foundation that our application for a $35,949. USD Global Grant for a WASH in Schools project in 3 schools in the area around San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua was approved. We are looking forward to seeing the project implemented, and travelling to Nicaragua next March 4 – 11, 2016 with the
District 5810 Heart of Service Trip. The Keene, NH Rotary and Interact clubs were there last year and posted a great video on YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sdy2fqEjr6A He also presented an "International Service" pin to committee member and Vice-Chair, Sant Virmani, in recognition of his contribution towards a Water Project in India which continues to move forward. If you are interested in helping out with the club's International Service efforts or simply want more information, speak to Art or Sant.
Don't forget the Float Build party Nov. 10th. at Dawn's home (6900 Napa Valley Dr. Frisco, TX 75035). According to Dawn, "It is going to be a blast!"
