Wellness Center for Older Adults

Joy Hinkelman is the Executive Director for the Wellness Center for Older Adults.  Joy has been with the Wellness Center for five years.  Joy holds a degree in Organizational Development with a focus on Nonprofit Management. Being an avid learner, Joy also holds certifications in areas such as Nonprofit Management, Marketing, and Development.  During her 21-year career in the nonprofit sector, Joy has held leadership roles in fields primarily revolving around mental health.  Joy’s lifelong affinity to our elder population makes her position at the Wellness Center a perfect fit.

Joy and her husband, a retired USAF MSgt, have two adult children; Samantha an Army soldier, and Spenser a Marine.  Joy’s greatest source of happiness is her 2-year old granddaughter, Olivia.  In her free time, Joy enjoys gardening, quilting, blacksmithing with her husband, and simply spending time with her family.  Joy and her family have always been active volunteers within the community so it is not surprising that her newest venture is Rotary.  On July 7th, she was inducted into the Plano West Rotary Club.  Joy is eager to learn and serve the community with her follow Rotarians.
