Mr. Hoeflinger has worked to provide sustainable solutions to global challenges through the application of physical and life sciences - collaborating with global leaders in the private and public sector. He has contributed as a thought-leader and speaker at numerous world events, including the United Nations, World Economic Forum, White House, the countries of India, China, Russia, and others - and locally at Earth Day Texas. His keynote on "The Future of Smart Societies" is helping to pave the way for the next generation of digital infrastructure which solves many of the current social dillemas we face today. Frisco Arts Update

Named 2017 Spirit of Frisco by the Chamber of Commerce and 2019 Visionary Nonprofit Arts Leader by the North Texas Business Council for the Arts, Tammy Meinershagen has a gift of inspiring others through her music, leadership, and passion for the arts. A professional musician and former English teacher, Tammy has volunteered in many roles to promote arts and culture in Frisco, including the Frisco Public Art Board, Texas Music Teachers Association, Frisco Council of PTA's, and the 2015 Citizen Bond Committee, where she successfully spearheaded a $10M bond initiative for a performing arts center in Frisco.

The State of FISD

Dr. Mike Waldrip serves as superintendent of Frisco Independent School District. He began his career in education in 1982 in Victoria, Texas. He spent 16 years as a biology teacher and basketball coach in Victoria, Goliad and Seminole ISDs, before working as an assistant high school principal in Seminole. He first came to Frisco ISD in 2002, serving as principal of Clark Middle School and then as the District’s first-ever director of secondary instruction. He opened Liberty High School as principal in 2006. In 2010, Dr. Waldrip moved to central administration, where he oversaw data systems, program evaluation and various FISD departments as an assistant and deputy superintendent. In 2014, he got the opportunity to serve as superintendent of schools in nearby Coppell ISD, a position he held until his return to Frisco ISD in July 2017. Dr. Waldrip and his wife Lisa have two grown sons who both graduated from Frisco ISD schools. In his spare time, Dr. Waldrip enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors, traveling, scuba diving, reading and listening to live music, such as classic rock and roll and the blues. Dr. Todd Fouche is the Deputy Superintendent of Business and Operations at FISD. He has served the district for almost 18 years in various positions. He has lived in Frisco since 1994. |

Texas Health Frisco

A native Texan and 15-year Frisco resident, Shona was elected to her first term on the Frisco City Council in 2016. She was subsequently selected by her peers in 2018 to serve as the Council’s Mayor Pro Tem. Previously employed at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce focusing on governmental affairs, Shona now works as the Director of Community Relations for Texas Health Frisco. Known to be a tireless advocate for the community of Frisco, Shona’s love of policy and politics began at the kitchen table during the 1976 Presidential Election. With the newspaper stretched out before him, Shona’s grandfather began explaining current issues and asked what role she would play in making this country a better place to live. Those early, simple conversations quickly gave way to questions and in-depth discussions of policy. A desire to learn more was born and has been growing ever since. Shona has bachelor’s degrees from Southwest Baptist University (4 Majors—Political Science, History, Social Science Education, & Speech), as well as two master’s degrees in Communications and Political Science/Public Policy. Prior to her role with the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, Shona was a nationally-recognized US Government, US & World History and Communications high school teacher. She coached Speech & Debate on the national circuit, working with high school students to find and improve their voice. She has a passion for articulate AND considerate discussion of tough issues that impact society. Over the years, she has worked with the Frisco ISD Independent Study and Mentorship program as a mentor to young women looking to make their own marks in the field of public policy. Shona has two teenage daughters who attend Wakeland High School— Chloe, a junior, and Lilly, a freshman. Her greatest joys are cheering on Chloe, who dances on the drill team, and Lilly, who plays volleyball. Shona is an active member of Genesis Metro Church in Frisco. Ms. Baird celebrated her twentieth anniversary on the job in March 2020. She is Frisco's first Public Information Officer (PIO), and as the city grew, so did her role and responsibilities. The job evolved into director of communications and media relations. “I started out alone; today, ‘communications’ is a team of 10. In the beginning, I was charged with writing Focal Point, the city’s newsletter and press releases. Today, our team also broadcasts council and planning and zoning meetings; provides video production; secures sponsorships; produces special events and shepherds private event producers through our city’s permitting process; manages the city’s municipal volunteer program; manages multiple social media platforms and provides communication during crisis situations,” Ms. Baird explains. The Borgen Project

Brett Grega is a feature writer for The Borgen Project, a nonprofit dedicated to the fight against global poverty. The Borgen Project works at the political level to gain congressional support for key legislation that aids thousands of struggling people around the world. Currently, Borgen is working to protect the health of women and newborns in developing countries by supporting the Reach Every Mother and Child Act as well as protecting key foreign aid funding through the International Affairs Budget among other legislative goals. Recently, Borgen also helped pass an additional $11 million in foreign aid tied to the COVID-19 relief package.

Savannah has been in the nonprofit sector for 10 years, beginning her journey in fundraising within the animal welfare industry. She worked as the Outreach Manager for the Kentucky Humane Society's Equine C.A.R.E. program. After moving to Louisiana, Savannah took on a new opportunity to pursue international nonprofit work that services people in third-world countries. She is currently the Lead Development Officer for Orant Charities, an international organization that provides sustainable care to communities in Malawi, Africa. Savannah will be giving us an update on Stiwaza Kanyada, a young lady whose education has been sponsored by the Rotary Club of Frisco. |

Scott Johnson serves as CEO & Managing Partner of Wheelhouse Ventures. A serial entrepreneur, Johnson also serves as the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Wheelhouse portfolio company ZapStand, a medical technology start-up and CEO of portfolio company Wheelhouse Marinas. Scott served on the City Council in Frisco, Texas (Pop. 205,000) from 2008-2017 having been elected city-wide in 2008 and re-elected in 2011 and again in 2014. As a lifetime conservative, Johnson has consistently fought for low taxes, private property rights, balanced budgets, and controlled growth. Johnson is also on the front lines of Texas’ job growth as an Executive Board member of the Texas Business Leadership Council – a 100-CEO organization dedicated to Texas’ prosperity. Additionally, he served as an officer on the Board of Directors for the Texas Economic Development Corporation (TexasOne) having been appointed by Governor Rick Perry in 2006 and having served until 2015. Johnson has led missions on behalf of the Governor to Georgia, New York, and California meeting with CEO’s and site selectors and recruiting corporations to Texas. His efforts have contributed to the longest sustained period of job growth in Texas history. He is also a graduate of Leadership North Texas Class 7. Johnson was named to the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 under 40” in both 2005 and 2010, and the Collin County Business Press “40 under 40” in 2012 recognizing him as one of the top 40 business professionals under the age of 40 in the area. Additionally, Johnson serves on the boards of numerous private companies and charitable foundations including the Collin College Foundation (as an officer of the Board). Scott Johnson is a 4-time IRONMAN triathlon finisher and is the first person known to have completed the IRONMAN World Championships in Hawaii with an artificial lumbar disc. His inspiring story of struggle and determination following four back surgeries caused NBC to profile Johnson during its yearly IRONMAN broadcast in 2010. Johnson is an involved dad, including coaching the U11 Army football team and the U7 Tigers basketball team. He is a product of the Richardson ISD and is a graduate of Auburn University. Scott is proud of his Christian faith and deeply held beliefs and is an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church where he has been a member for more than 30 years. City of Frisco Waste Reductions

Julianah Marie, Waste Reduction Programs Coordinator, has been with the City of Frisco for over 5 years. She has her BA from University of Oregon in Environmental Studies and her MPA from College of Charleston with a concentration in Environmental Policy and regulation. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins as a Bloomberg American Health Initiative Fellow to address environmental challenges to public health. At the City of Frisco, Julianah manages market materials of the items recycled on-site at the Environmental Collection Center, she also applies for, implements programs with grant funding, conducts analysis of programs, and produces reports. Chief Shilson was named Chief of Police for Frisco Police Department in November 2019. Prior to coming to Frisco, Shilson was a police officer for the College Station, Texas Police Department. Shilson holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M. Shilson is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the ILEA 83rd School of Police Supervision. While at the Frisco Police Department, Shilson has held various ranks and positions, to include Patrol Corporal, Traffic/Patrol Sergeant, Patrol/Traffic/Administrative Lieutenant, and Deputy Chief over the Operations, Services, and Investigations Bureaus. Chief Shilson is also a member of various police organizations and associations, such as, the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA), North Texas Police Chiefs Association (NTPCA), and many others. |

Suad was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where his father helped him fall in love with photography by giving him his first camera as a gift for his 11th birthday. Since then, he’s been unlocking the many secrets of photography and thoroughly enjoying himself in the process. A US resident since 1997, and citizen since 2004, Suad has been fascinated with his new homeland, and especially its western portions, with National Parks and the abundance of other scenic areas and public lands. He worked in Corporate America for 15 years, during which time he was fortunate enough to travel and build his fine art portfolio. Many of his best photographs were created on trips to California, Utah, Arizona and Nevada, although he always has a camera ready in Texas, too. Suad enjoys offering his skills to area nonprofits and volunteering; he teaches Continuing Education photography classes at the Collin County Community College. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, and is the President of Visual Arts Guild of Frisco. |

After 25 years in corporate America, including nearly 22 years @ the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Wayne Dominck transitioned to non profit to help empower the community. He worked at Reading Partners for 3 years before recently taking the Director role at the 3to1 Foundation. The 3to1 Foundation is an educational and nonprofit organization that serves the community by providing financial seminars and programs for people of all ages. Through our interactive seminars, students learn about topics such as goal setting, budgeting, investing, and debt management. In addition, the 3to1 Foundation sponsors an annual scholarship program and an essay contest to promote financial literacy. Our mission is to help people attain lifetime economic freedom. |

Jim Brown is the Vice President, Market Lead for the American Cancer Society in North Texas. Jim has been a grassroots fundraiser, coordinated large gala like the Dallas Cattle Baron’s Ball and golf events. He has led national corporate partnerships (including most recently Walmart), but his favorite role is leading his amazing ACS team. And yes, is you see the resemblance, you’re right, it’s Kim’s Dad! Leyka Ishibashi has been working in the non-profit world for almost a decade. She believes in helping organizations accomplish their mission through building strong partner relationships and raising awareness. Currently, she leads the “Real Men Wear Pink,” “Health Equity Research & Operations,” and the Young Texans Against Cancer initiatives for the American Cancer Society in North Texas. Beth Wilson-Stavinoha is two-time cancer survivor and member of the American Cancer Society Dallas Advisory Board and also served as a 2016 Portrait of Hope Ambassador. She is currently an On-Camera and Voice-Over Talent, represented by the Mary Collins Agency. She has been a television and radio host in Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; and Phoenix, AZ. In addition to her work in media, Beth served as a Corporate Communications Director and Director of Sales and Marketing in the fields of real estate and senior living. She holds a Graduate Marketing Certificate from the SMU Cox School of Business and a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film from The University of Texas at Austin. She is married and resides in University Park. She has twin girls and three stepchildren. |
